HiPERiSM - High Performance Algorism Consulting
The HiPERiSM Consulting Science and Engineering data Visualization (HC-SEV) service offers Vis5D to visualize data sets of complex and advanced models. This software is publicly available from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Space Science and Engineering Center (http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billh/vis5d.html) where it was developed.
Vis5D enables interactive visualization of 5-dimensional large gridded data sets typical of meteorological or environmental data sets with rotation and animation in real time. Options include views of isosurfaces, contour lines, color slices, or volume renderings of 3-D data, features for wind trajectory tracing, text annotations for publications, and support for interactive data analysis.
For examples follow these embedded links (and compare with PAVE for the same data):
1. From the Vis5D opening panel select the view (box with horizontal and vertical slices) and the species to display (Ozone).
2. For the horizontal slice choose the altitude from the slider control panel that pops up.
3. View the resulting display showing Ozone concentrations for the date and time shown.
